A fee shall be charged and collected for each permit for electrical equipment and wiring installations, the amount of each such fee to be determined according to the following:
(a) A $40.00 base fee plus $3.00 per 100 square feet of floor area for new structures and additions or alterations to existing structures. The square footage for electrical shell permits, not indicating complete interior plans, shall be twenty percent (20%) of the overall shell building area in order to cover temporary and permanent electrical service.
(b) For minor alterations or repairs not associated with or incidental to a building permit for which the square footage calculation is not applicable, the following fees shall be charged and collected for each item/unit or fraction thereof installed or replaced. A $20.00 base fee for 1, 2, & 3 family dwelling or accessory structures, or a $40.00 base fee for all other installations plus the following
(1) For each fixture, junction box, outlet, or switch, whether ganged or not: $10.00 each
(2) For each electrical circuit, disconnecting means, or overcurrent protection device which includes any alteration, extension and addition to such circuit or equipment: $10.00 each
(3) For each electric range, oven, clothes dryer or other electric equipment and circuit which requires 220 volts: $10.00 each
(4) Electric signs, including neon or other tube lighting, including decorative marquee lighting, all footlights, strips and border in theaters where sockets are installed within 24” of each other: $1.00 per foot for greatest length of sign.
(5) Temporary lighting installations: $20.00 for each 40 lights
(6) Temporary power:
Each system up to 25 outlets $20.00
(7) High capacity lighting circuits: $10.00 each
(8) Residential exhaust fans: $10.00 each
(9) Commercial exhaust fans: $10.00 each
(10) For electrical equipment, motors and/or apparatus, the fees shall be as follows:
A. portable motor or generator: $10.00
B. fixed machine or motor: $10.00
C. heating equipment: $10.00
D. electric appliances: $10.00
E. controllers: $10.00
F. capacitors: $10.00
(11) Electric heating or cooling units (incl. heat pumps) $10.00
(12) Service entrances: $ 20.00/each
(13) Each sub-panel after main: $ 10.00/each
Change or relocation $ 10.00/each
(14) Commercial and industrial power installations of services, electrical panels, outlets, switches, disconnecting means, fixtures and circuits shall be calculated as above, except that each fee shall be proportionally increased where the voltage exceeds 110 voltage, such that 220 volt electrical system fees shall be doubled and 440 volt electrical system fees shall be quadrupled. Fees for three phase electrical systems shall be doubled.
(15) Step up or step down transformers not under power company control: $20.00
(16) Low voltage systems such as signaling, fire detection, communications, and supervision required in the building code: $20.00 plus $2.00 per 100 square feet
(17) Inspection necessary as a consequence of faulty construction or inaccurate information given to the building division requiring an inspection of the permit record: $20.00 per each inspection.
Or in lieu of listing of each equipment type, the applicable flat fee plus 0.1% of the total installed costs of all electrical equipment and associated materials to be installed or altered.
