The fees required by Section 925.20 shall be doubled for work, for which a permit is required by this code, started prior to obtaining a permit. An additional late charge of 10% (ten percent) shall be added onto the cost of all permit fees for work which has been started without a permit, for each month or fraction thereof, such permit is not obtained after first being notified to stop work or obtain the proper permit.
Exception: Emergency repairs shall not be cause for late fees where the work is performed by a registered contractor and the City is notified as soon as possible during normal working hours and the permits are applied for and obtained in a timely manner.
