The Chief of Police is authorized to prescribe such uniform, badge, and/or distinguishing uniform marks for a private security officer and/or an unarmed security officer, as he may see fit in order to distinguish such private security officer from regular police officers of the City of Mentor.

No person not a member of the Police or Fire Department of the City of Mentor shall wear a uniform, cap, badge, or buttons similar to or in imitation of the official uniform at the time in use by the members of said departments. The use of police blue is prohibited unless specifically authorized by the Chief of Police.
