All subdivisions of land hereafter submitted for approval shall comply with the regulations set forth herein. It is the purpose of these regulations to:
A. Regulate the subdivision of land to promote public health, safety and general welfare.
B. To further the orderly layout and use of land.
C. To prevent the overcrowding of land and to lessen congestion in the streets and highways.
D. To provide for adequate light and air.
E. To facilitate adequate provisions for streets, water, sewer, drainage, recreation and other public needs and facilities.
F. To provide for implementation of the city policies, goals, comprehensive guide plan and other plans.
G. To facilitate efficient, attractive, coordinated development of land. (1975 Code Ch. 22 § I)
