A. The following shall be officers of the city of Menomonie: mayor, alderpersons, city clerk, city attorney, city treasurer- comptroller, city weed commissioner, city street superintendent, city water superintendent, city wastewater superintendent, city public works director, city park-recreation director, city chief building inspector, city health officer, city chief of the police department, and city chief of the fire department.
B. The mayor and alderpersons shall be elected by the voters.
C. The chief of the fire department and the chief of the police department shall be appointed by the police and fire commission pursuant to section 62.13, Wisconsin statutes.
D. The remaining city officers shall be selected by appointment by the mayor subject to common council confirmation by simple majority vote. All such officers shall hold office for indefinite terms except the city attorney who shall be appointed on or after the third Tuesday in April in the year of the election of the mayor.
