Any specifications in which general expressions are used to the effect that "work shall be done in accordance with the building code" or "to the satisfaction of the building inspector" shall be deemed imperfect and incomplete, and every reference to the building code shall be to the section or subsection applicable to the material to be used or to the method of construction proposed.
