6-8-3: SNOWMOBILE ROUTES DESIGNATED; ADDITIONAL REGULATIONS:
   A.   Operation On City Streets, Alleys And Properties:
      1.   Routes Open To Travel: The following routes when marked by official devices shall be opened to snowmobile travel:
ALLEY located between Knapp Street and Wilson Street and between the north line of Locust Avenue and the south line of Cedar Avenue.
CEDAR FALLS ROAD from its western terminus to its intersection of the east right of way line of the Chicago and Northwestern Railway Company.
DOUGLAS STREET from the north line of Walnut Avenue to the south line of Maple Avenue.
MAPLE AVENUE from the west line of Douglas Street to the western boundary of Wakanda Park.
WALNUT AVENUE from its western terminus to the east line of Douglas Street.
5TH AVENUE EAST between 14th Street and 17th Street.
17TH AVENUE between 3rd Street East and 3rd Street West.
17TH STREET between 10th Avenue East and 12th Avenue East.
21ST STREET EAST from the south line of Stout Road to its southerly terminus.
24TH AVENUE between 9th Street and Bongey Drive. (1975 Code Ch. 7 § XIX; amd. 2009 Code)
      2.   Travel Restrictions; Equipment: No person shall operate a snowmobile on the city streets and alleys contrary to the following regulations:
         a.   Travel shall be at a speed not in excess of ten (10) miles per hour.
         b.   Travel shall be as far to the right side of the street as possible.
         c.   Headlights and taillights shall be on at all times.
         d.   Right of way to all pedestrian and vehicular traffic shall be yielded.
         e.   All other traffic rules shall be obeyed.
         f.   All snowmobiles shall have functioning and effective braking systems.
      3.   Restrictions On Operators:
         a.   No person under the age of sixteen (16) years shall operate, nor shall any snowmobile owner knowingly authorize such person to operate a snowmobile on any public streets or ways or properties in the city.
         b.   No person shall operate or knowingly permit operation of a snowmobile on any public street or public way or properties open to the public use within the city by a person who does not have a valid motor vehicle operator's license unless such person is accompanied by a licensed driver who is occupying a seat on the vehicle.
   B.   Hours Of Operation: No person shall operate a snowmobile within the city between the hours of eleven o'clock (11:00) P.M. and seven o'clock (7:00) A.M.
   C.   Unattended Vehicles: No person shall leave or allow a snowmobile owned or operated by him to remain unattended on any public highway or public property with the motor running or with the starting key left in the ignition. (1975 Code Ch. 7 § XIX)
