1-8-2: ABSENTEE BALLOT BOARD:
   A.   Board Established: Pursuant to the provisions of Minnesota statutes, an absentee ballot board is hereby established. Said absentee ballot board will encompass the entire city for the purpose of receiving all absentee ballots for any primary, general or special election held within the city. The absentee ballot board shall be under the direct charge and supervision of the city clerk, and the place for receiving and examining all returned absentee ballots shall be the Mendota Heights city hall.
   B.   Composition: The absentee ballot board shall consist of an election board designated by the city clerk.
   C.   Duties: The absentee ballot board shall:
      1.   Receive all absentee ballot return envelopes for each precinct in the city.
      2.   Examine all returned ballot envelopes and accept or reject absentee ballots as in the manner provided in Minnesota statutes chapter 203B.
      3.   Deliver the "accepted" absentee ballots to the appropriate precincts for tabulation. (2003 Code)
   D.   Application Of State Election Laws: Except as hereinabove otherwise provided, all of the laws applicable to absentee ballots and absentee voters as well as any other applicable provisions of law as contained in the election laws of the state shall apply to the ballots handled by the absentee ballot board.
