7-2-3: DEFINITIONS:
CODE OFFICIAL: The Fire Chief, Fire Marshal, or other designated authority charged by the Governing Body with the enforcement of this Code or a duly authorized representative.
GARBAGE: Animal and vegetable matter such as that originating in homes, restaurants, food service and processing establishments.
OPEN BURNING: The burning of any matter whereby the resultant combustion products are emitted directly to the open atmosphere without passing through an adequate stack, duct, or chimney.
PORTABLE OUTDOOR FIREPLACE: A portable, outdoor, solid fuel burning fireplace that may be constructed of steel, concrete, clay or other noncombustible material. A portable outdoor fireplace may be open in design, or may be equipped with a small hearth opening and a short chimney or chimney opening in the top.
REFUSE: Any combustible waste material, trade waste, or garbage containing carbon in a free state.
TRADE WASTE: Any solid, liquid, or gaseous material resulting from any business, trade, industrial activity, construction activity, or any demolition operation including, but not limited to, plastics, cardboard, grease, oil, chemicals, and cinders. (Ord. 509, 5-2-2017)
