§ 96.01 DEFINITION.
   For the purpose of this chapter, the following definition shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
   CHIEF OF POLICE. The Chief of Police of the City of Memphis or, in the event that position is unfilled, the chief law enforcement officer of the City of Memphis.
