(a) Residential units: Solid waste shall be collected from residential units on a regular basis of twice per week. Recyclable materials will be set out for curbside collection once per week on one of the solid waste collection days. The collection day shall be determined by the collector with town approval. The collector shall pick up all properly prepared (yard) trash placed at the curb or at the designated collection point from each residential unit not less than one time per week. The collector shall notify the customers of the applicable schedule of (yard) trash collection at least ten days prior to an alteration of said schedule.
(b) Commercial units shall be provided solid waste collection at least two times per week or up to six times per week, if needed, excluding Sunday. The need for additional collection days shall be determined upon mutual agreement of the collector and the respective customer. A request for additional collection days by a customer shall not be unreasonably withheld or disapproved by the collector. Recyclable materials generated by multi-family commercial units will be collected once per week on one of the solid waste collection days. The recyclable materials collection day for multi-family commercial units shall be determined by the collector with Town approval. The collector shall pick up all properly prepared (yard) trash placed at the curb or at the designated collection point from each multi-family residential commercial unit not less than one time per week. The collector shall notify the customers of the applicable schedule of (yard) trash collection at least ten days prior to an alteration of said schedule.
(c) The collector need not provide residential collection on holidays as set forth in the applicable franchise agreement.
(d) Roll-off containers will be collected on a demand basis.
(e) The collector shall notify all customers at least once per year of their respective collection days for solid waste, (yard) trash, and recyclable material collection, and in the event the collector may change the days of collection, it shall notify the customer at least ten days prior to the change.
(f) Residential units, commercial units, and institutional units constructed so as to be non-accessible by normal collection equipment, shall be subject to rates negotiated between the collector and the building owners and/or tenants. In the event rates cannot be agreed upon, the Town Commission shall decide upon a reasonable rate under the specific circumstances.
