For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
EXTRATERRITORIAL PLAT APPROVAL JURISDICTION.
The unincorporated area within 1½ miles of the corporate limits of the City.
STREET.
A way for vehicular traffic other than an alley.
(1) MAJOR STREETS AND HIGHWAYS
are those which are used primarily for fast or heavy traffic.
(2) COLLECTOR STREETS
are those which carry traffic from minor streets to the system of major streets and highways including the principal entrance streets of a residential development and streets for circulation within such a development.
(3) MINOR STREETS
are those which are used primarily for access to the abutting properties.
(4) MARGINAL ACCESS STREETS
are minor streets which are parallel to and adjacent to major streets and highways; and which provide access to abutting properties and protection from through traffic.
SUBDIVISION.
A division of a lot, parcel or tract of land by the owner thereof or his agent for the purpose of sale or building development, where:
(1) The act of division creates 5 or more parcels or building sites of 1½ acres each or less in area.
(2) 5 or more parcels or building sites of 1½ acres each or less are created by successive divisions within a period of 5 years.
