(A) Such application shall be referred to the Chief of Police for investigation and report before consideration by the City Clerk.
(B) The Chief of Police shall inquire into the character and record of the applicant or other persons named in said application who shall, if such license be granted, engage in said business and in addition to other investigation, shall contact, if possible, the following sources regarding the applicant:
(1) Federal Bureau of Investigation.
(2) Police Department (at the residence of the applicant).
(3) Federal Trade Commission.
(4) Association of Commerce (at the residence of the applicant).
(5) Any known businessmen's association at the residence of the applicant.
(6) Any other source which in the opinion of the Chief of Police would furnish information as to the character and record of the applicant or persons engaged in said business with him.
