No person shall within the City engage in the business of taking photographs or portraits of others for a cash or other consideration or return to be received at any time, or operate a studio, or canvass or solicit from house to house for the purpose of taking such photographs or making appointments for taking such photographs for any such consideration where such studio operator, canvasser, or solicitor exhibits to others pictures or negatives of persons without first having obtained a license so to do so as provided in this section, provided that nothing in this section contained shall have any application to the business of servicing, receiving, developing, or printing, exposed camera films, plates, or packs, and the sale of the products of such service, nor shall the same have any application to any person developing or printing those films for his own use or in commercial advertising.
