6-4-13: LIMITATION ON NUMBER OF DOGS; GRANDFATHERING:
No person shall permit more than three (3) dogs, excluding puppies under four (4) months of age, to be or remain in or about any dwelling unit, including, but not limited to, any garage, yard or other structure associated with said dwelling unit. This provision shall not be applicable to kennels which are properly zoned. Any person with more than three (3) dogs at the time of adoption of this chapter shall be permitted to maintain all the dogs for the life of the dogs. After which, a maximum of three (3) dogs shall be permitted to be or remain in or about any dwelling unit, including, but not limited to, any garage, yard or other structure associated with said dwelling unit. For the purposes of this section, addresses with four (4) or more dogs shall be those registered with the McHenry County Department of Health as of the date of adoption of this chapter.
