(a) Bereavement pay shall be allowed for working days off (not to exceed three days). Said pay or time shall not be deducted from accumulated sick leave. Said allowance shall apply in the case of death of the employee’s spouse, children, step children, parents or spouse’s parents, step parent, grandparents, brother, sister, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, and grandchild. Said allowance shall apply only in the event the employee attends the funeral of the deceased relative.
(b) Leave of absence without pay is allowed for other funerals when approved by the employee’s supervisor. (Ord. 2886-01. Passed 12-19-01.)
