(a) Full-time non-elected employees:
(1) All full-time salaried and hourly-related, non-elected employees of the Village shall receive the following vacations, with full pay:
A. After completion of one year, but less than five years of satisfactory service, two weeks vacation;
B. After completion of five years, but less than twelve years of
satisfactory service, three weeks vacation;
C. After completion of twelve years, but less than eighteen years of satisfactory service, four weeks vacation; and
D. After completion of eighteen years of satisfactory service, five weeks vacation.

(b) Non-elected employees that work 1560 hours or more a year, and hold a permanent part-time designation, shall receive the following vacation, with full pay:

(1) After completion of one year of satisfactory service, thirty-two hours vacation. (Ord. 3065-09. Passed 12-2-09.)
(c) Beginning January 1, 2008, all employees of the Village who have one (1) full year of satisfactory service and are entitled to receive vacation shall have their vacation time anniversaries revert to January 1.
(d) All employees of the Village with a minimum of fifteen years of full-time service shall be eligible for compensation up to, but not in excess of, fifteen (15) days in consideration for waiving and relinquishing fifteen (15) days of vacation, which vacation must have been already earned prior to notifying the Clerk in writing.
(e) In accordance with Ohio R.C. 9.44, for purposes of determining vacation leave, prior service credit will be granted for any employee of the Village, who is hired on or after July 5, 1987, and who had previous employment with the Village. Credit for prior service will be granted as follows:
(1) For greater than 2,080 hours of continuous service, but less than 4,160 hours of continuous service, an employee shall be issued one (1) year of service credit;
(2) For greater than 4,160 hours of continuous service, but less than 6,240 hours of continuous service, an employee shall be issued two (2) years of service credit; and
(3) For greater than 6,240 hours of continuous service, an employee shall be issued three (3) years of service credit.
For purposes of this subsection (f), service will be deemed “continuous” if it is not interrupted by a period of time in excess of sixty (60) days.
(f) The time designated for vacation for employees must be approved by the department supervisor.
(g) Employees shall not be permitted to carryover vacation time from year to year, except that an employee may carryover one (1) week of vacation into the following year to be used in the first quarter of the following year, if the carryover is approved by Council.
(h) Upon the death of an employee or termination of service of an employee, said employee is entitled to prorated vacation time. In the event of the death of an employee, any prorated vacation time shall be paid to the deceased employee’s estate. In the event of termination of the service of any employee, the employee shall be paid his prorated vacation time. (Ord. 3044-08. Passed 10-15-08.)
