All members of the McDonald Fire Fighters Organization may be reimbursed for expenses when attending training sessions, seminars, schooling, classes, etc., when such education or training is directly pertaining to the betterment and efficiency of their performance as firefighters or ambulance attendants, where approved in advance by the Mayor.

(a) The Mayor and the Chief of the Fire Department are hereby authorized to excuse from duty, without deduction in pay, any regular member of the Fire Department because of sickness or accident contracted in the ordinary course of events or for injury or sickness arising within the scope of his duty. (1940 Code Sec. 365)
(b) The Mayor and the Chief of the Fire Department may require proof of sickness, accident or disability by physical examination on the part of any physician whom they may choose or the Mayor and the Chief of the Fire Department may accept the certificate of a regular practicing physician. (1940 Code Sec. 368)
(a) There is hereby established a Junior Firefighter’s Program within the Fire Department of the Village of McDonald.
(b) Applicants shall be between the ages of sixteen but not yet eighteen years of age and a resident of the Village at the time the application for the appointment is made to the Fire Department.
(c) The applicants for the Junior Firefighter’s Program shall be appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by Council.
(d) The Junior Firefighter’s Program shall be governed in accordance with the rules and regulations as established by the Practices and Procedure Manual of the McDonald Fire Department.
(e) The Village shall pay each Junior Firefighter biannually a sum sufficient to pay for the Firefighter’s insurance as provided by the State Firefighter’s Association.

(a) There is hereby established a Reserve Firefighter Program within the Village of McDonald Fire Department.
(b) Applicants for the Reserve Firefighter Program must be at least eighteen years of age; must have graduated high school or obtained a GED; and must be attending a college or trade school full time, which full time status shall be determined by the educational institution.
(c) Reserve Firefighters shall be on a provisional status until they are eligible to become permanent volunteers of the Village of McDonald Fire Department. The provisional status shall not exceed four years without a mayoral extension.
(d) The Reserve Firefighter Program shall be governed in accordance with further Rules and Regulations as established by the Village Fire Department.
