(a) Whoever violates or fails to comply with any provisions of this Chapter is guilty of a misdemeanor of the first degree and shall be fined not more than one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) or jailed for not more than one hundred eighty days, or both, for each offense. A separate offense is committed for each and every separate violation of this Chapter.
(b) Where the violator of this Chapter is other than a natural person, subsection (a) of this section shall also apply to an agent, officer, member, shareholder, or partner who alone, or in conjunction with others, have charge, care or control of the rental property.
(c) The imposition of any penalty shall not preclude the Solicitor of the Village from instituting any action or proceeding in a court of proper jurisdiction concerning a violation of this Chapter; to restrain, correct, or abate a violation; to prevent the occupancy of a rental property; or to require compliance with the provisions of this Chapter or other applicable laws, ordinances rules or regulations or with orders or determinations of the Building Inspector.
