It shall be the duty of the Solicitor to act as attorney and counsel for the Village and the officers thereof, in their respective capacity, and as such attorney, to prosecute and defend all actions for or against the Village or any department or officer thereof, in their respective capacity aforesaid, and to attend all regular and special Council meetings, Planning Commission meetings and meetings of the Board of Zoning Appeals during the term of his employment, except as otherwise determined by Council, and to render legal opinions to Council and to any department or officer of the Village upon request in writing.
