1325.11 MAINTENANCE.
   All signs shall be kept in an attractive and reasonably clean manner. Supports for signs shall be always kept in the manner originally designed for that purpose. No wood, concrete, cement block or other similar building materials shall be used to support signs unless they are fastened to the sign and placed on or below ground level, or in the case of roof sign, placed on the roof. Whenever it appears to the Building Inspector that any sign has been erected in violation of any provision of this chapter, or is in such a condition as to be a menace to the safety or health of the public, or has been erected or maintained in violation of any of the provisions in this chapter, he shall issue a notice in writing to the owner or person in charge, possession or control thereof, if the whereabouts of such person is known, informing him of the violation and of the dangerous condition of the sign and directing him to make such alterations or repairs, or to do such things as are necessary to place the structure in a safe, substantial and secure condition and to make it comply with the requirements of this chapter within such reasonable time as shall be stated in the notice, which time period shall not exceed ten days. If the owner or person in charge, possession or control of the sign cannot be found, then the Building Inspector shall attach, or cause to be attached to such structure, a notice of the same import.
