1325.04 NO PERMIT REQUIRED.
   Permits are not required for political campaign signs for either candidates or issues; temporary yard signs (for sale or lease signs; home improvement signs; garage sale signs, information signs or construction signs).
   (a)   Political campaign signs shall be confined within private property only. They shall be no larger than twelve (12) square feet in size. They shall not be permitted in any Village right of way or on Village-owned property, and shall not be illuminated in any way.

   (b)   For sale or lease real estate signs shall be permitted with only one sign in the front yard, or two if a corner lot, one facing each street. These signs shall be no larger than sixteen square feet and shall not be illuminated in any way. Directional signs for open announcements will be permitted, but shall not be placed on utility poles nor on private property without the owner's consent, or on trees in the Village rights of way, including the devil strips. They shall be valid up to the day following the open house.
   (c)   Garage sale signs shall be permitted with only one sign permitted in the front yard where the sale is being held. Directional signs shall be permitted, but not on utility poles nor on trees in the Village rights of way, nor on private property without the owner's consent. These signs shall be no larger than six square feet and are not to be illuminated in any way. Garage sale signs shall be valid for a period of seven days prior to the sale and must be removed no later than the day following the sale. This section also applies to yard sales, porch sales and similar sales.
   (d)   Home improvement signs shall be limited to exterior work only and are permitted in only the front yard where the improvement is being made. They shall be no larger than sixteen square feet and are not to be illuminated in any way.
   (e)   Construction signs, only identifying the architect, engineer, contractor and any other individuals or firms involved with the construction, but not including any advertisement of any product, and signs announcing the character of the building enterprise or the purpose for which the building is intended, shall be permitted during the construction. These signs shall not exceed an area of thirty-two square feet and shall be confined to the site of the construction only. They shall be removed upon occupancy of the premises.
   (f)   Information signs shall be permitted on private property only and shall be no larger than 16 square feet. They shall not be placed on utility poles nor on trees in the Village rights of way, including devil strips. They shall not be illuminated in any way.
