(a) All streets already laid out shall be graded to a grade with drainage ditches on both sides; each lot shall have a driveway approach properly drained with a cross drain pipe of corrugated metal no less than fourteen feet in length and eight inches in diameter. The driveway approach shall be slagged along with the slagging of the street approved by the Municipal Engineer.
(b) Streets shall have sanitary sewers with the necessary manholes and flush tanks therein and house connections from the sewers to the outside sidewalk lines constructed in the streets and connected so as to become a part of the sanitary sewer system of the Municipality, all in a manner required by the general specifications of the Municipality for the construction of sanitary sewers.
(c) Streets shall have constructed slag crosswalks at all street intersections in compliance with the specifications for crosswalks adopted by Council.
(d) All streets and alleys shall be of a required six-inch slag rolled base at the time of approval by the Engineer and acceptance by Council, and a bond shall be presented at the same time assuring that the developer of the street shall treat the entire surface of the street with asphaltic topping or equivalent to a width and depth satisfactory to the Engineer and Council with curbing as required by Council and that the surface will be maintained in good condition.
(e) A stream or watercourse shall be spanned by a proper culvert or bridge.
(f) Alleys shall be so improved and in a safe and proper condition that the public may use them as public streets. All of the above shall be done to the requirements and satisfaction of Council and to the approval and satisfaction of the Municipal Engineer, and the character and manner of work done shall be subject to his inspection as are streets improved by the Municipality. If in the opinion of the Municipal Engineer the proper inspection of work requires the services of a Municipal Inspector, one shall be employed and for the period employed, he shall be compensated at the same rate of wages as paid by the Municipality for inspectors in the Engineering Department.
(g) No plat wherein any streets have been improved by the owners shall be approved or accepted by Council unless the provisions of this section have been fully complied with, and until the salaries of the inspectors heretofore provided for have been paid by the owners of the plat or allotment.
(h) Installation of water lines shall be subject to the approval of the Village Administrator. (Ord. 896-62. Passed 12-18-62.)
