§ 35.02  DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION.
   (A)   The Town Council, as the legislative body of the town, hereby creates a Department of Parks and Recreation, to be established under the name and style of the “Town of McCordsville Department of Parks and Recreation”.
   (B)   The territorial jurisdiction of the Department of Parks and Recreation shall be coincident with the incorporated limits of the town as currently constituted, or as they may hereafter be constituted.
   (C)   In accordance with I.C. 36-10-3-4, there shall be appointed by the President of the Town Council, as chief executive, an initial Board consisting of four members, in addition to which may be added one or two ex officio members, with the further provision that no more than two members of the Board may be affiliated with the same political party, and that any ex officio member appointed is to be either from the governing body of the school corporation serving the jurisdiction or the governing body of the library district serving the jurisdiction or both.
   (D)   The term of office for the initial appointments to the Town Parks and Recreation Board shall be one member for a term of one year, one member for a term of two years, one member for a term of three years and one member for a term of four years, with each successive term for each appointment to be a four-year term, and all terms expiring on the first Monday in January of the appropriate year.
