(A) Length and width. Block length and width or acreage within bounding streets shall be designed to accommodate the size of the lot required in the area by this chapter and to provide for convenient access, circulation control, and safety of street traffic. Blocks that are unreasonably large or small will not be approved. The maximum block length shall be 1,200 feet. In the design of blocks longer than 800 feet, the Commission may specify the provision of pedestrian crosswalks near the center, or wherever most useful to facilitate pedestrians' circulation to a school, park, recreation area, shopping center, or other significant neighborhood destination.
(B) Residential blocks. Residential blocks shall be of sufficient depth to accommodate two tiers of lots of minimum depth, except where reverse frontage lots bordering a freeway, arterial street or flood plain are used.
(C) Block shape. No specific rule concerning the shape of blocks is made, but blocks must fit easily into the overall plan of the subdivision and their design must evidence consideration of lot planning, traffic flow, and public areas.
