6-3-040:   TAP-INS OR HOOK-UPS TO THE CITY OF MCCALL SEWER SYSTEM:
   (A)   General: The term tap-in or hook-up shall be defined as a service connection constructed from an existing sewer lateral, main or interceptor sewer to the property line. Responsibility for construction and cost of the tap-in or hook-up shall be the property owners, whose property is being connected to the public sewer system, or the person causing said connection to be made. Upon completion and acceptance by the City, the tap-in or hook-up shall become a part of the public sewer system.
   (B)   Permit Required: It shall be a violation of this Section for any person to construct or cause the construction of a tap-in or hook-up without first obtaining a tap-in or hook-up permit from the City.
   (C)   Inspection: Prior to any work or alteration on a public sewer line as part of a tap-in or hook-up, the proposed tap-in or hook-up must be inspected and approved by the City Public Works Director. Request for inspection must be made to the City at least twenty four (24) hours prior to the proposed tap-in or hook-up.
   (D)   Failure to Inspect: Should the applicant or his duly authorized agent connect facilities to the sewer system without the facilities being inspected and approved by the City, the party responsible for the connections shall be required at his own expense to excavate the pipeline facilities constructed and disconnect the tap-in or hook-up from the sewer line, in order that a proper inspection can be made, whereupon compliance with subsection (B) of this Section will be required if no permit has been previously issued.
   (E)   Construction Specifications: Construction of the tap-in or hook-up shall conform to the City's "sewer tap or hook-up" specifications, available at the McCall City Hall, and issued to the applicant at the time of permit application. Only plumbers licensed in accordance with the laws of the State of Idaho, shall be authorized to make the actual tap-in or hook- up to the City sewer line. (Ord. 632, 7-28-93)
