§ 30.19 VILLAGE TREASURER.
   (A)   The Village Treasurer for the Village of Mazon shall be appointed by the President, and with the advice and consent of the Trustees of the Village Board, pursuant to 65 ILCS 5/3.1-30-5.
   (B)   The Village Board shall review the compensation of the Village Treasurer on an annual basis.
   (C)   The duties of the Village Treasurer from and following the effective date of this section shall be the following:
      (1)   Those duties established in Division 35, Article 3.1 (65 ILCS 5/3.1-35), of the Illinois Municipal Code, which may be amended hereinafter;
      (2)   Receive, verify, and deposit all village funds received;
      (3)   Open, maintain, and provide detailed reports to the Village Board regarding all village certificates of deposit;
      (4)   Research, report, and provide recommendations to the Village Board regarding current bank interests rates and investments;
      (5)   Review and verify all end of month financial reports received from the Village Secretary;
      (6)   Balance village end of month financial ledgers and disbursement journals;
      (7)   Prepare, present, and file village annual budget and appropriations;
      (8)   Review on a monthly basis the approved village budget and provide a report to the Village Board if requested;
      (9)   Prepare, present, and file annual appropriation line item adjustments as approved by the Village Board;
      (10)   Provide a monthly Treasurer's report to the Village Board;
      (11)   Monitor and provide recommendations for distribution of village school site funds;
      (12)   Prepare, present and file annual levy and assessment of tax, and estimated annual revenue as approved by the Village Board;
      (13)   Prepare documentation to assist with the village annual audit as performed by the Village Auditor;
      (14)   Complete cash receipt deposits on a weekly basis, and prepare a written log of monthly deposits for the same;
      (15)   Review of village payroll reports on a bi-weekly basis;
      (16)   Attend all Village Board meeting, and provide reports, recommendations, or documentation, as previously requested by the President or Village Board;
      (17)   Only utilize accounting and report software as provided by the village; and
      (18)   Provide assistance to the Village Secretary to include but not limited to in answering the Village Telephone, and assisting citizens at Village Hall, in the absence of the Village Secretary.
   (D)   The term of the Village Treasurer shall be for one year, and shall not exceed the fiscal year in which the appointment was made.
   (E)   The compensation for the Village Treasurer shall be established by budget, within the approved village appropriations ordinance, every fiscal year. The established compensation shall be paid to the Village Treasurer in monthly installments throughout the fiscal year.
