§ 33.05 POWERS OF THE CHIEF.
   (A)   The Chief of the Fire Department shall have sole and absolute control and command over all persons connected with the Fire Department of the Village. He shall possess full power and authority over its organization, government and discipline, and the direction and control of the Bureau of Fire Prevention, and to that end he may prescribe and establish from time to time such rules and such regulations as he may deem advisable, subject to the approval of the Village Manager.
   (B)   He shall have power to suspend any firefighter from duty, but he shall report such suspension to the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners at its next regular meeting and the reasons for his action. On such report being made, the Board shall take such action thereon as shall seem to them just and right in the premises. Any firefighter so suspended shall not be entitled to pay while so suspended, nor until he shall be returned to duty by the proper authority.
