(A) There is established as an executive department of the Village government the Department of Public Works, which shall be under the supervision of the Director of Public Works. The Director of Public Works shall be appointed by the Village Manager.
(B) The Department shall have the supervision, management, control, maintenance, enlargement and operation of the waterworks and sewerage system and of the streets, alleys, sidewalks, and other public places in the Village and any other matters and things connected with the operation, maintenance and extension of the Department.
