§ 93.07 STRAY ANIMALS.
   (A)   When the Animal Control Officer observes or is informed that animals are roaming freely and not under supervision of its owner, he shall apprehend the animal.
   (B)   The Village shall provide a service for its residents for the purpose of caring for stray and straying animals.
   (C)   When owners of animals impounded are known, notice shall be given by telephone or by mail to the last known address. Animals with known owners shall be held not less than 7 days.
   (D)   An owner reclaiming an impounded animal shall pay a fee of $35 plus $15 a day for each day the animal is impounded.
   (E)   Any animal whose owner is not identifiable must be held not less than 72 hours and then shall be placed for adoption, humanely euthanized or otherwise disposed of in accordance with the Illinois Compiled Statutes.
   (F)   Known owners of animals at large shall be issued a notice of the ordinance violation.
   (G)   In addition to or in lieu of impounding an animal found at large, the Animal Control Officer or his representative may issue to the known owner of such animal a notice of ordinance violation. The owner may pay a stipulated penalty of $50 to the Village within 3 days in full satisfaction of the violation charge.
