§ 73.07 SERIAL NUMBER.
   It shall be unlawful to destroy, remove, alter, cover or deface the manufacturer's serial number on any bicycle. It shall be unlawful for any person to own or have custody of a bicycle on which the original serial number has been destroyed, altered, removed, covered or defaced. In the event a bicycle has been purchased which does not contain a manufacturer's serial number, the Police Department shall stamp an original serial number on the frame of the bicycle and this number shall be considered the original number.
