(A) When signs are erected giving notice thereof, no person shall drive a vehicle in excess of the speed limit posted.
(B) Pursuant to an engineering and traffic investigation conducted by the Police Department of the Village and the Maywood Traffic Safety Commission it was ascertained that established speed limits on certain of the urban streets of the Village are greater or less than is reasonable or safe with respect to the conditions found to exist within the Village and along the streets thereof.
(C) (1) No person shall drive a motor vehicle at a speed in excess of 20 miles per hour while passing a school zone or while traveling upon any public thoroughfare on or across which children pass going to and from school during school days when school children are present.
(2) The Village Manager is authorized and directed to have appropriate signs posted upon streets and highways under the jurisdiction of and maintained by the Village wherein school zones are located, and to request the Department of Public Works and Buildings, Division of Highways and the County Highway Department to post appropriate signs upon streets and highways within the Village which are under their jurisdiction and maintenance.
(3) Such signs shall give proper due warning that a school zone is being approached and shall indicate the school zone and the maximum speed limit in effect during school days when school children are present.
