§ 158.99 PENALTY.
   (A)   Any person who undertakes or causes an alteration, construction, demolition, or removal of any nominated or designated landmark or property within a nominated or designated landmark or designated historic district without a COA shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine of not less than $50 nor more than $500. Every day such violation shall continue to exist shall constitute a separate violation.
   (B)   The Historic Preservation Commission may recommend to the Village Board that it institute any appropriate action or proceeding in the name of the Village to enjoin, correct, or abate any violation of this chapter.
