373.07 SAFE RIDING REGULATIONS.
   (a)   Any person operating a bicycle, adult tricycle or unicycle shall obey the instructions of official traffic-control signals, signs and other control devices applicable to vehicles, unless otherwise directed by a police officer.
   (b)   Persons riding bicycles, tricycles or unicycles upon a street shall ride in single file only and not abreast except on shared-use trails or parts of streets set aside for the use of bicycles, tricycles or unicycles.
   (c)   No person shall ride a bicycle, tricycle or unicycle upon a sidewalk upon or along which signs have been erected by authority of the Mayor prohibiting such bicycle, tricycle or unicycle riding.
   (d)   Whenever a person is riding a bicycle, tricycle or unicycle upon a sidewalk, shared-use trail or street, such a person shall yield the right of way to any pedestrian and shall give an audible signal before attempting to overtake and pass a pedestrian or another bicycle, tricycle or unicycle. This audible signal must be given only by a bell or other warning device capable of giving an audible signal and shall be given at such a distance and in such a manner as not to startle the person or persons being overtaken and passed.
   (e)   Whenever a person is riding a bicycle, tricycle or unicycle upon a sidewalk, the person before overtaking and passing a blind person carrying a white cane shall dismount and overtake on foot.
   (f)   When a bicycle, tricycle or unicycle is operated on the street, the operator shall give hand signals before turning, changing lanes or stopping. Such signals shall conform with Motor Vehicle Laws of Ohio.
   (g)   Every rider of a bicycle, tricycle or unicycle shall exercise due care to avoid colliding with any pedestrian or any vehicle upon any roadway, sidewalk or bicycle, tricycle or unicycle trail, or endangering the life, limb or property of any person while in the lawful use of the streets, sidewalks, shared-use trails or any other private or public property.
   (h)   A person operating a bicycle, tricycle or unicycle shall not ride other than astride a permanent and regular seat attached thereto nor carry any other person upon such bicycle, tricycle or unicycle other than upon a firmly attached and regular seat thereon, nor shall any person ride upon a bicycle, tricycle or unicycle other than upon such a firmly attached and regular seat.
   (i)   No bicycle, tricycle or unicycle shall be used to carry more persons at one time than the number for which it is designed and equipped.
   (j)   No person shall operate a bicycle, tricycle or unicycle at a speed greater than is reasonable and proper under the conditions then existing.
   (k)   The operator of a bicycle, tricycle or unicycle emerging from an alley, driveway or building shall, upon approaching a sidewalk or the sidewalk area extending across any alley or driveway, yield the right of way to all pedestrians approaching on such sidewalk area and upon entering the street shall yield the right of way to all vehicles approaching such street.
   (l)   No person shall engage in trick riding or operate a bicycle or tricycle without both hands upon the handle grips except when necessary to give the hand signals required herein.
   (m)   No person operating a bicycle or tricycle shall carry any package, bundle or article in such a manner as to take either hand from the handle bars.
   (n)   No person operating a bicycle, tricycle or unicycle, coaster, skateboard, roller skates, sled or toy vehicle shall attach the same or himself to any vehicle.
   (o)   No person shall park a bicycle, tricycle or unicycle upon a sidewalk or shared-use trail in such a manner as to interfere with pedestrian traffic or damage the property of another.
   (p)   No person shall park a bicycle, tricycle or unicycle upon a roadway in such a manner as to interfere with vehicular traffic.
