1179.01 INTENT.

   It is the intent of Village Council to ensure the safe operation of oil and gas wells and preserve the aesthetics and character of and within the Village. Toward that end, this chapter has been adopted to supplement any State issued permits which authorize the drilling of any oil and gas well within the Village. The provisions of this chapter are based upon local conditions which may not be known to the State at the time such drilling was authorized. It is further the intent of the Village to exercise its local police authority, authorized under Article XVIII, Section 3 of the Ohio Constitution, to the fullest extent permitted by law, for the protection of the Village residents and all emergency personnel who may be called upon to respond to an incident at any oil and gas well.
