1301.04 LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT; CREATION AND DUTIES.

   (a)   The position of Landscape Architect is hereby created who shall provide, at the direction of the Mayor, landscape architect consulting services to the Village.

   (b)   Such Landscape Architect shall be appointed by the Mayor and shall serve at the pleasure of the Mayor, and shall be registered as a landscape architect in the State of Ohio. The compensation of the Landscape Architect shall be established by Council from time to time.

   (c)   Duties.

      (1)   The Landscape Architect shall provide advice and direction as requested for enhancement of the landscape on and around public properties and locations.

      (2)   At such times as appropriate, the Landscape Architect shall review landscape plans submitted for approval including, but not limited to, written reports, sketches, models, photographs, land-use studies and cost estimates.

      (3)   In reviewing such plans, recommendations by the Landscape Architect shall be made to determine the optimal arrangement of topography, vegetation, walkways and landscape amenities. Such design shall not only be functional but beautiful and environmentally appropriate as well.

      (4)   The Landscape Architect shall provide for a detailed report of all his proceedings and shall submit a copy of his recommendations to the Mayor, Building Commissioner, and/or the developer or contractor, as appropriate.
