§ 73.01 SKATEBOARDS.
   (A)   The operation of skateboards and related devices within the corporate limits of the City of Mayer shall be regulated pursuant to Minnesota Statutes as amended from time to time.
   (B)   In addition, it shall be unlawful to operate skateboards and related devices under the following circumstances.
      (1)   On private property without the express permission to do so by the owner or occupant of such property.
      (2)   In any careless, reckless or negligent manner, so as to endanger or be likely to endanger the safety of any person or property.
      (3)   In any park, except Meadow Park, except in and around the playground equipment area in Meadow Park.
      (4)   Upon any public street, alley, sidewalk, trail and parking lot lying within the following described area: Bluejay Avenue (County Road 23) on the west; Ash Avenue (State Highway 25) on the east; First Street (County Road 30) on the south and Fifth Street on the north; including said streets and alley (between Bluejay and Ash Avenue).
   (C)   Impoundment. Violation of this section shall be punishable by impoundment of such device by a law enforcement officer for storage and safekeeping for a period of three days for the first offense, seven days upon the second offense, and 30 days for the third offense. Subsequent offenses are punishable as a petty misdemeanor. Such device may be recovered upon payment of an impound fee of $25 to the city; and if the owner thereof is under age 18, the accompaniment of a legal guardian is also required.
