§ 33.17 ASSISTANT FIRE CHIEF; SELECTION AND DUTIES.
   The members of the Department shall select one member as the Assistant Fire Chief. Selection shall be approved or disapproved by the Council. The Assistant Fire Chief shall serve until another Assistant Fire Chief is selected by members of the Department, unless earlier removed by the Council. In case of the absence or disability of the Fire Chief, the Assistant Fire Chief shall perform all the functions and exercise all the authority of the Chief.
