Auxiliary police officers, prior to carrying firearms, shall receive a course of training in the use of such weapons and other police procedures. The course of training shall not be less than twenty four (24) hours in duration. Upon satisfactory completion of the training, the chief of police shall file a certificate, attesting to the auxiliary police officer's completion of the course, with the village board.
