5-2-1: APPOINTMENT; BACKGROUND CHECK:
   A.   Appointment: The president of the village board of trustees is authorized to appoint, not to exceed six (6) auxiliary police officers subject to the advice and consent of the village board.
   B.   Background Check: Prior to appointment, all proposed auxiliary police officers shall be fingerprinted and their fingerprinting shall be checked with the federal bureau of identification, Washington, D.C., for any possible criminal record. No person shall be appointed as an auxiliary police officer if he or she has been convicted of a felony or other crime involving moral turpitude.
   C.   Termination: The appointment of any or all auxiliary police officers may be terminated by the president of the village board subject to the advice and consent of the village board. (1993 Code § 2-1-1)
