Whenever any officer of the village shall abate any nuisance under the provisions of this chapter or any ordinance of the village or on order of the village board of trustees, it shall be the duty of such officer to keep an accurate account of such expenses incurred and report the same at the next regular meeting of the board, and such expenses may be recovered from the author of such nuisance.
