Upon a taxpayer's election, an eligible taxpayer may elect to file a net profit return with the Ohio Business Gateway administered by the Tax Commissioner and shall thereafter be subject to Sections 718.80 through 718.95 of the Ohio Revised Code in lieu of the provision set forth within Chapter 181. This section shall apply to taxable years beginning on or after January 1, 2018. In the event that Sections 718.80 through 718.95 of the Ohio Revised Code are determined by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable, this Section shall be considered null and void until and unless further legislative action is taken by City Council.
