(a) The HVAC Inspector shall be certified by the State of Ohio Board of Building Standards or shall be certified within one year after date of employment. The HVAC Inspector shall not, during his employment by the City as a certified HVAC Inspector, be employed or engaged, directly or indirectly, in any manner, with any license as provided herein, or enter into any contract for work for others covered by this chapter, or for furnishing materials, plans or specifications for others.
(b) The duties of the HVAC Inspector shall be to enforce all of the provisions of this chapter, the Ohio Basic Building Code and the standards of this chapter, the Ohio Building Code and the standards of any adopted or referenced codes. If a condition exists or arises which is not specifically provided for, the HVAC Inspector shall prescribe and direct requirements necessary to make such work conform to the intent and purpose of this chapter and the HVAC Code.
