(a) No person shall park or cause to be parked any truck, commercial tractor, trailer, semitrailer or pole trailer on any street within the City when such street has a road surface of eighty feet or less. As used in this section, "road surface" means the distance from curb to curb on streets having curbs and the driving surface used by vehicles on streets having no curbs. However, such vehicles may be parked on streets having a road surface of less than eighty feet when such parking is for the purpose of loading or unloading such vehicles, but such parking shall not, in any event, be for a period exceeding thirty minutes in duration. Vehicles engaged in the moving of household goods and furnishings and, when necessary, other vehicles, may be parked for longer than thirty minutes if a permit authorizing such parking has first been obtained from the Safety-Service Director by the driver or operator of the vehicle, but in no event shall parking be authorized for a longer period than twenty-four hours.

(b) Whoever violates any provision of this section is guilty of a minor misdemeanor on a first offense; on a second offense within one year after the first offense, the person is guilty of a misdemeanor of the fourth degree; on each subsequent offense within one year after the first offense, the person is guilty of a misdemeanor of the third degree.
