ORDINANCE NO. 2014 - 68

ADOPTING THE REVISION, CODIFICATION, RECODIFICATION, REARRANGEMENT AND PUBLICATION OF THE ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS OF THE CITY OF MASON, IN BOOK FORM, FOR THE CURRENT SUPPLEMENT

   WHEREAS, an updating of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Mason has been completed; and

   WHEREAS, Charter Section 4.15 A. requires a vote of four members of Council for the revision, codification, recodification, rearrangement or publication of the ordinances and resolutions of the City of Mason, in book form; and

   WHEREAS, Charter Section 4.15 B. requires that Council shall cause notice of a meeting for consideration of the revision, codification, recodification, rearrangement, or publication of the ordinances and resolutions, in book form, to be published. Said notice shall include the date, time and place of the meeting of Council to consider the revision, codification, recodification, rearrangement or publication of the ordinances and resolutions, in book form, the full text of which need not be published; and

   WHEREAS, said notice shall be published one time in a newspaper, determined by Council to be of circulation within the City of Mason, at least seven days prior to the final approval by Council and shall state that a copy of the revision, codification, recodification, rearrangement or publication of the ordinances and resolutions of the City of Mason, in book form, is available for public viewing in the office of the Clerk of Council.

   WHEREAS, Council chooses to follow the procedure outlined above in adopting a supplement to the Codified Ordinances as authorized under Charter Section 4.15 C.

   NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Mason, Ohio, six members elected thereto concurring:

   Section 1.   That the revision, codification, recodification, rearrangement or publication of the ordinances and resolutions of the City of Mason, Ohio, in book form, for the 2014 Supplement is hereby adopted.

   Section 2.   That a copy of said 2014 Supplement is on file in the office of the Clerk of Council.

   Section 3.   That this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
