The purpose of this commission shall be to:
A. Upon request, advise City staff, the Mayor, and the City Council on designated matters concerning the purchase, sale, or implementation of items of a highly technological or scientific nature.
B. Present new technology which will improve the efficiency of government, the well-being of citizens, or reduce the cost of doing Municipal business.
C. Give opinions covering a wide-range of scientific topics on a case-by-case basis as requested by City staff, or City Council.
D. When the subject under review is outside the scientific comfort zone of commission members, experts in the field shall be sought out and consulted.
E. Develop ideas and strategies to enhance the technological advancement of the City and its citizens.
F. Make an annual report to the City Council in December of each year. (Ord. 18-6, 7-2-2018)
