Sec. 50-32. Terms and qualifications.
The planning commission shall consist of nine members. Not less than eight members shall be qualified electors of the city. Eight members shall be appointed by the mayor with the approval of the city council. One member shall be selected from the city council by resolution of the council to serve ex officio. The membership of the commission shall be representative of important segments of the community, including agriculture, natural resources, recreation, education, public health, government, transportation, industry, and commerce. The membership shall also be representative of the entire geography of the city. The term of each member shall be three years, except that the term of the ex officio member shall be stated in the resolution selecting said member, but the term shall not extend beyond the term of office for said member as member of the city council.
