Any sign or sign structure erected, used or maintained in violation of this chapter or in disobedience to any order validly issued by the zoning official pursuant to this chapter is declared to be a nuisance per se, and the person owning or maintaining such sign shall be responsible for a municipal civil infraction punishable as set forth in Section 1-8(d) in chapter 1 of this code.
