(a) The building official is authorized to issue and serve appearance tickets with respect to violations of ordinances listed under Section 2-142a pursuant to Section 9c(2) of Public Act No. 147, 1968 (MCL 764.9c(2)) and to issue citations for violations designated a municipal civil infraction pursuant to Chapter 87 of Public Act No. 236, 1961 (MCL 600.8707).
(b) The zoning and development director and his appointed officers and inspectors shall be authorized to issue and serve appearance tickets with respect to any violations of the ordinances listed under section 2-142(b) pursuant to Section 9c(2) of Public Act No. 147 of 1968, MCL 764.9c(2). Such persons are also authorized to issue and serve municipal civil infraction citations for such violations pursuant to Chapter 87 of 1961 PA 236, MCL 600.8707.
