(A) The purpose of the Economic Development Commission shall be to actively encourage economic development, analyze proposals and make recommendations to the Village Board concerning residential, commercial, service, industrial and other economic development within the village and areas near the village, within 1 miles of the corporate boundary per the comprehensive plan.
(B) Functions include, but are not limited to:
(1) Long range economic planning;
(2) Community outreach through a process of promotional activities on behalf of the village;
(3) Community/business liaison;
(4) Preserve community standards; and
(5) Coordinate economic development with surrounding communities.
